SC Man Struck and Killed in NC

GASTONIA, N.C. (AP) – Authorities say a South Carolina man riding a bicycle in the middle of a four-lane highway has been struck and killed in Gaston County. Troopers told media outlets that 47-year-old Johney Westberry of Lancaster, South Carolina, was thrown from his bicycle on U.S. Highway 321 and pronounced dead at the scene just north of the South Carolina-North Carolina state line. Authorities say Westberry was wearing dark clothing.
