Sumter PD: Missing teen’s body found, murder investigation underway

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)–  Sumter PD says an investigation into a missing teen has led to the discovery of his body on Thursday.

15-year-old Derrick “CD” Wilson was reported missing by his family after he was seen getting into a car on Meadow Circle with unknown individuals.

Sumter Police Department say the body of Wilson was found by officers on Thursday afternoon, July 25, outside in the Hoyt and Nelson streets area.

Officers say it appears that the teen was shot and an autopsy is scheduled for next week.

Wilson was originally reported missing by family members after 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24.

His family told officers the last time anyone saw him was on Tuesday leaving the home of a relative on Meadow Circle and then getting into a car with two unknown individuals.

Officers are working to determine who he was with, what happened and why.
