RCSD: Man arrested after verbal altercation led to another man being fatally shot, coroner ID’s victim

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A man has been arrested after a verbal altercation led to another man being fatally shot at a body shop, said investigators.
Richland County deputies said they responded to a call about a body being discovered at a body shop in the 1700 block of Percival Road.
When deputies arrived to the scene, they met with the caller, who happened to be an acquaintance of the victim and had not heard from him.
The victim was found at the scene deceased.
The victim was later identified by Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford as 47-year-old Henry C. Durugbor
RCSD investigators were able to access security camera footage that captured the incident, which deputies said occurred on Tuesday, July 30, around 5:30 p.m.
Video footage showed the victim and Michael Harper get into a verbal altercation before Harper drew a gun and fatally shot the victim in the upper body area, said RCSD.
He left the scene in a vehicle quickly after the shooting.
On Wednesday, July 31, around 2 p.m. an RCSD investigator spotted Harper’s vehicle in the area of O’Neil Court and requested backup.
Deputies made a traffic stop and confirmed Harper was the driver. Shortly after he was taken into custody without incident.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department charged harper with murder and he was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
