Deputies: Employee Caught on Camera Stealing Keys, SUV
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged a teen with grand larceny after allegedly being caught on surveillance video stealing an SUV.
Deputies say 17-year-old Tavain Richardson was working at the Panera Bread located in the 100 block of Percival Road when he noticed the victim left the keys to his 2008 Land Rover on the counter.
Deputies say the victim was having lunch at the restaurant on December 5 and was able to get a ride home to retrieve another set, but when he returned, his vehicle was gone.
Richardson allegedly stole the vehicle and hid it behind the Wal-Mart across the street in order to come back and get it at a later time, deputies say.
Richardson is being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
