Georgia State Hires Gamecock Assistant Shawn Elliott

shawn-elliott-pointingCOLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — According to numerous reports, Gamecock Offensive Line Coach Shawn Elliott has agreed to become the head coach at Georgia State.

Elliott replaces Trent Miles, who was relieved of his duties with the Panthers this season after a 9-38 record.

This is not Elliott’s first head coaching gig. In 2015, he was named the interim head coach of the Gamecocks after former USC head coach Steve Spurrier’s mid-season resignation. Elliott went 1-5 (1-3 SEC) last season as the interim head coach.

This is a developing story. Stick with ABC Columbia Sports for more later in the day.
