Remembering a fellow student-athlete

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A deadly crash may have taken the life of a Midlands high school student, but she continues to live in the hearts of fellow athletes. Tuesday night, Spring Valley High School hosted the annual “Ashley Nicole-Dent Memorial Soccer Game” against Irmo High School. Nicole-Dent was killed back in 2006 on her way home from club soccer practice. Organizers say Dent epitomized the spirit of athletic competition and what it meant to be a member of a team.
