Power restored at Richland County C&D Landfill

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Solid Waste & Recycling reports that power has been restored to the C&D Landfill on Caughman Road N, and facility operations have returned to normal.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Solid Waste & Recycling has reported a power outage on Monday at the County’s C&D Landfill because of a large tree falling.

County officials say the large tree fell on power lines on Monticello Road.

Phones and landfill scales are currently down, and utility crews are on site.

At this time only residential waste is being accepted at the facility until power is restored.

Commercial customers are being redirected to the Waste Management landfill at 1047 Hwy Church Road in Elgin, or instructed to return when power is restored, says the county.
