YMCA Talks Healthy Resolutions

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– People tend to pack on the pounds during the holidays, making weight loss a popular New Year’s resolution.

If your resolution is to get in shape, some say there is no better time to start than New Year’s Day.

Gym regulars said making a resolution to get fit is great but many people do not stay on top of their goal all year.

For first timers or those who have been out of the gym for a while, YMCA staff members said the Y is the perfect place to get your workout routine back on track.

“All of our wellness  coaches are available to help the members at any time, it’s free of charge. Every new member gets a free personal training session with a trainer to put them on a customized program,” said Hampton Street Healthy Living Director, Kelly Brown.  “I think just asking questions and not being afraid. Everyone has a starting point and we’re here to help everyone be successful.”
