CNN– You may want to make your holiday returns sooner rather than later consumerworld.org’s

annual return policy survey found some big stores are tightening their windows for returns.

Among them is Macy’s, which is requiring all returns within a year instead of returns anytime.

Kohl’s created a Jan. 31 deadline for “premium electronics” to replace an open-ended policy.

Costco switched its return period on major appliances from open-ended to 90 days.

Short return periods were added for drones at Target, Walmart and Toys “R” Us.

The survey found while some retailers made their policies slightly more lenient, most return policies stayed about the same as last year.
