Former pastor, wife arrested in connection with case involving crimes against minors

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A former pastor and his wife have been arrested in connection to a case involving crimes against minors, said RCSD.

Irwin Wilson was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, 1st degree and criminal sexual conduct with a minor, 3rd degree by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department on July 26.

Rita Wilson was also arrested on July 31 for unlawful conduct toward a child.

Both Irwin and Rita Wilson were booked at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, but Rita has since been released on bond.

RCSD investigators expect there to be additional charges against Irwin Wilson, said the department.

Prior to RCSD’s investigation and the charges, Irvin was already a registered sex offender in South Carolina.

Also, he previously was a pastor, realtor, and he ran for mayor of Columbia in 2010.
