SPD: Additional people identified in shooting death of Sumter teen
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter PD has identified two additional people in connection to the July shooting of 15-year-old Derrick “CD” Wilson, say officers.
Investigators say murder warrants were issued this week for Sumter residents Cedric T. Wright, 20, of Nelson Street, and Keonte K. Jackson, 21 of Pack Road, based on information
gathered during the investigation.
Jackson was placed in custody without incident on Wednesday, Aug. 7, and is being held at the local detention center. While the search for Wright continues.
An up to $5,000 reward is available for information leading to Wright’s arrest.
Derrick Wilson‘s body was found shot on July 25, in the Hoyt/Nelson streets area of Sumter, a day after his family reported him missing.
Previously, two other suspects were placed in custody early in the investigation and remain in the Sumter County jail.
Jaylen Hammett, 17, of Manning, was found July 25 at a home in Clarendon County and placed in custody.
He is charged with accessory before the fact of murder.
Ja’Hugh L’Goeshay Brukale Martin, 20, of Manning turned himself in July 29 and is charged with murder.
