Gas Main Leak, Columbia Business Evacuated

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — City of Columbia fire officials confirm that there is a gas main leak at the corner of Millwood and Gervais streets in downtown Columbia. They say it was ruptured, perhaps due to digging, but are unable to offer more details at this time. Gervais Street between Millwood and Lyon Street is closed. Nearby businesses have been evacuation for safety reasons. We will continue to provide updates as details become available.
