Human Remains Identified as 62-Year-Old Missing Man
Victim Died of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound, Coroner Says

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Coroner has determined the person whose remains were found Wednesday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The remains were found off of Earth Road and Spears Creek Church Road around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Coroner Gary Watts said the remains have been identified as Dennis Wayne Lancaster,62, of Peach Grove Circle, Elgin, SC. Lancaster had been reported missing on February 13, 2016.

Watts said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The Columbia Police Department and the Richland County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the case.
