CPD to Meet With Suspended Firefighter

COLUMBIA. S.C. (WOLO)- The former firefighter who police identified as a person of interest in an arson investigation is due to meet with police.

The Columbia Police Department confirmed to ABC Columbia that the suspended fireman will meet with law enforcement through an attorney some time this week. City officials said the man refused to answer questions of law enforcement when they first named him as a person of interest in connection with a deadly arson at Plantation Court Apartments. 80 year-old True Dent Henderson died of smoke inhalation according to Coroner Gary Watts.

City Manger Teresa Wilson said the man is suspended without pay until further notice. The police department and the State Law Enforcement Division continue to investigate the fatal arson.
