SCDOT to temporarily close I-20 westbound ramp to I-26 westbound for construction

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the I-20 westbound ramp (exit 64B) onto I-26 westbound beginning on Friday, said SCDOT.

The westbound ramp will be closed on Friday, August 16, beginning at 11 p.m. so crews can do construction in the area.

SCDOT expects the ramp to be reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, August 19. The closure is part of Phase 2 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

As part of the closure, a detour will be put in place:

Drivers traveling from I-20 westbound who wish to use exit 64B to I-26 westbound will use the clover leaf interchange by continuing along I-20 westbound and taking exit 64A onto I-26 eastbound, then take exit 107B onto I-20 eastbound, and exit at 64B onto I-26 Westbound.

Officials say message board signs will display detour directions.
