RCSD’s 2nd Ryan D. Rawl’s Soccer Tournament kicks off this month!

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County deputies are kicking off a special tournament to remember their fallen brother this month!

The 2nd Ryan D. Rawl’s Soccer Tournament is Saturday August, 31 starting at 9 a.m. at the Garners Ferry Sports Complex, 8620 Garners Ferry Rd., Hopkins.

Curtis spoke with Master Deputy Thomas Browne about how the event brings the public and law enforcement together to celebrate the power of community and the legacy of First Lieutenant and Deputy Ryan Rawl, who died in 2012 at the age of 30 while serving with the Army National Guard in Afghanistan.

Law enforcement from Columbia and Forest Acres will also be there.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Foundation.

There will be also be plenty of food and drinks to enjoy and it’s free to attend!
