Job growth far weaker than initially reported
(CNN)– According to new data, U.S. job growth during much of the past year was a lot weaker than initially estimated.
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests there were 818 thousand fewer jobs in March of this year than were initially reported.
It’s the largest downward revision since 2009 and shows the labor market wasn’t quite as red got as it initially appeared.
However, job growth was still strong.
The estimates released by the labor department on Wednesday are preliminary and wont be finalized until February 2025.
