Rare mosquito borne illness claims a life

(CNN) — A rare mosquito borne illness is making the rounds in several states and now it’s reportedly claimed at least one life.

According to the CDC the New Hampshire resident tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis before being hospitalized with Severe Central Nervous System Disease. Officials say that individual died a short time later.
the centers for disease control and prevention says Vermont, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Wisconsin are the only other states reporting cases of EEE.

There is no treatment or vaccine for the illness. We checked with the local CDC here in South Carolina and according to their website no cases of the illness have been reported this year.
