Firefighters control Thursday fire near university campus

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Firefighters with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department, fought a Thursday afternoon fire near the University of South Carolina.

The fire department says firefighters arrived to the scene shortly after 3:40 p.m. to find a fire spreading through a catering truck.

Fire crews were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire. No one was injured but the truck suffered heavy damages.
