Bugs, mold found at Boar’s Head plant

(CNN)– Inspectors say they found bugs and mold at a ‘Boar’s Head’ plant in Virginia that’s been linked to the massive deli meat recall.

Reports from the USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service shows 69 noncompliances at the plant within the past year.

In the report, insects were found both alive and dead.

And mold was spotted on doors, near a hand-washing sink, and on the ceiling.

A spokesperson for Boar’s Head says food safety is a priority and the company regrets the impact of the recall.

Operations at the plant have been suspended.
