Deputies Investigate After Elderly Man Found Severely Beaten

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)- Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating after a 65-year-old man was found severely beaten Sunday morning.

Just before 1:30a.m. deputies responded to Palmetto Health Richland, where the victim was taken by EMS.

Authorities say the 65-year-old victim was found in the 1100 block of St. Andrews Road with severe head injury.

The victim had to have surgery for his head injury. His condition is unknown at this time.

Deputies are investigating this incident as an aggravated assault.
