SCDOT preparing for Hurricane Helene impacts
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Transportation says crews are preparing for potential impacts related to Hurricane Helene.
Crews in the affected areas have begun preparing and are ready to respond, according to SCDOT.
The potential for rain, high winds, and risk of tornadoes means the possibility of debris and flooded roadways.
Resident are reminded to never drive through standing water. SCDOT encourages anyone with an issue on a state-maintained roadway to call them directly at 855-467-2368.
The traveling public should be weather aware and stay tuned to official sources of information including the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, local officials and local broadcasts.
