Bentley, Edwards, Williams Shine in Garnet and Black Game

Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks closed out their spring season Saturday, hosting their Garnet and Black exhibition at Williams-Brice Stadium.

With a crowd that includes the top commit of USC’s 2017 recruiting class, DB Jamyest Williams, plus 2018’s top prospect in the nation, DE Xavier Thomas, the first-team offense scored four touchdowns on the starting defense. Jake Bentley threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns, two going to Bryan Edwards, who also racked up 111 receiving yards on four catches. North Carolina transfer RB Ty’Son Williams rushed for 83 yards and a score.

The first-team offense reached the end zone four times against the first-team defense, as the Black team topped the Garnet 35-24.
