USC Flag Flies Above Statehouse Dome After Championship Win

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- Flying high and proud over the statehouse is the University of South Carolina’s flag after the lady Gamecocks became national champions.

After the Gamecocks defeated Mississippi State Sunday night, 67-55, the flag was raised.

Following the Gamecocks win, Governor Henry McMaster tweeted “Let’s raise the flag on the Dome tonight!”

Raising the flag has become a tradition for whichever South Carolina team wins a title.
