As four Clemson QB’s finished their spring competition, all vying to be Deshaun Watson’s replacement, Dabo Swinney says rising junior Kelly Bryant would currently be his starter.
Bryant rushed for a touchdown from four yards out to start the scoring in the Tigers Spring Game Saturday. His orange side beat the white 19-14. But Bryant only attempted 13 passes, completing four of them for 43 yards. He ran the ball 12 times for 69 yards.
Early enrollee Hunter Johnson threw a 24 yard score to Diondre Overton for half of his total yardage on the day. Tucker Israel completed 13 of his 19 passes, totaling a game-high 94 passing yards with one Trevion Thompson 14 yard TD. Zerrick Cooper connected for 11 completions on 18 attempts for 81 yards.
