After winning their first five games, Columbia dropped their second-straight matchup to Hickory Wednesday night 4-2. The Crawdads clinched the series win as the Fireflies finished their opening week of the season with a 5-2 record.

Tim Tebow closed out his first home stand as a pro baseball player by going 0-3 at the plate with a walk. After only getting one hit against Hickory, the former Heisman Trophy winner holds a .174 batting average seven games into his first campaign.

The Fireflies go on the road for the first time in 2017 Thursday, traveling to Augusta for a four-game weekend series. They head to Rome after that, before returning to the Midlands to host Lexington on April 20.
