Power outages mount as Helene moves through the Midlands

 

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– As of 4:32 p.m. Friday afternoon Dominion Energy is reporting 278,587 customers without power.

Dominion officials are also urging residents to avoid downed power lines.

To report a downed power line call 1-888-333-4465.

According to the poweroutage website there are thousands of people with no power in the Midlands, 14,069 people in Saluda County, 16,377 people in Newberry County, 5,957 people in Fairfield County, 81,158 people in Richland County, 5,750 in Kershaw County, 250 in Lee County, 2,881 in Sumter County, 2,340 in Calhoun County, 1,080 in Clarendon County, 6,611 in Orangeburg County, and 94,351 in Lexington County.
