Dylann Roof No Longer at Charleston County Detention Center

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – Dylann Roof is no longer being housed at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. Friday afternoon he was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service.

Roof’s new home will be in the Federal Correctional Institution, Terre Haute. It’s a medium-security prison in Indiana.

Roof was convicted and sentenced to death in January for the deaths of nine people shot and killed in Emanuel AME Church in Charleston in June 2015.

It’s currently unknown when Roof will be executed for his crimes.
