Deputies: Suspect stole hat, punched store employee
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a black male who is accused of stealing a hat and then punched a store employee who tried to intervene.
Just after 2 p.m. on March 5 at the Belk department store located at 670 Promenade Place, the suspect is seen on video surveillance stealing a Polo hat and as the victim approached the suspect, the man hit the victim with his fist knocking him to the ground, deputies say.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Deputies say the suspect spoke with an Caribbean accent and a has a large build.
He was wearing a grey hoodie, white T-shirt, black pants, and black knit hat.
