Chapin Girls Fall Short of State Repeat in 4A Finals

110 minutes wasn’t enough time to decide a winner between Chapin and South Aiken for the Class 4A State Championship. Tied 1-1 after two periods, two overtimes, and two golden goal sessions, the Thoroughbreds broke through in penalty kicks, outscoring the defending champion Eagles 4-2 to claim the SCHSL title.
