USC Swim Coach To Help Team USA

COLUMBIA, S.C. (USC SID) — South Carolina head swimming and diving coach McGee Moody has been named to the U.S. men‘s swimming coaching staff for the 2013 World University Games, USA Swimming announced Tuesday. Moody will help lead Team USA on July 7-16 in Kazan, Russia. “It‘s a great honor to be asked to represent the U.S. on the international stage,” Moody said. “I give a lot of credit to our staff here at South Carolina. It has helped elevate this program to where this is a reality. I look forward to going over to Russia and helping the team in whatever way possible.” Mike Bottom (Michigan) will serve as the men‘s head coach in Kazan, while Kelly Kremer (Minnesota) and Rick DeMont (Arizona) join Moody to make up the assistant coaching staff. Being named to the staff gives Moody the chance to coach one of his current swimmers. Rising senior Michael Flach will compete for Team USA in the 200 butterfly. Flach made the roster by finishing second in the 200 butterfly at the U.S. Open Championships last August.
