Highway Patrol investigating two fatal collisions on I-77 Wednesday

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says two separate fatal collisions both happened on I-77 Wednesday night.

Master Trooper Gary Miller says the first collision happened on I-77 South near mile marker 15 at 9:19 p.m., when a 2005 Ford Mustang travelled off the right side of the road and overturned, killing the passenger.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as Shayna M. Stukes, 20, of Gaston, South Carolina.

According to Miller, the second collision happened on I-77 North near mile marker 12 at 11:12 p.m.

He says a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle hit a 2012 Chrysler 300 Sedan in the right rear corner, causing the motorcycle to overturn and travel off the right side of the road.

Coroner Rutherford has identified the motorcyclist as Robert T. Licata, 37, of Lugoff, South Carolina.

Both collisions remain under investigation.
