Justin Bethel is about to enter his sixth season with the Arizona Cardinals. Training camp is quickly approaching as the former Blythewood Bengal and three-time Pro Bowl special teams selection. He’s working at an opportunity to start for the Cards’ defense this season.
Yet Bethel was more than happy to spend his Saturday back at his alma mater, hosting his second-annual 7-on-7 Tournament. Seven area schools competed against each other throughout the morning and afternoon. The host Bengals were able to defeat Irmo in the finals, earning a $5,000 donation from Justin’s “Beating All Odds” foundation.
Bethel will start training camp with the Cardinals next month. He spoke with ABC Columbia Sports about his journey from Blythewood, to Presbyterian, to the NFL and the example it shows to Midlands football players and dreamers.
