Richland Coroner identifies body found in the Congaree River

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the body that was found in the Congaree River on Tuesday.

Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as Voyd Tribble III, 51, of Pomaria, South Carolina.

Richland County deputies say they were dispatched to the 600 block of Rosewood Drive around 6:00 p.m., where they found Tribble’s body in the river.

According to authorities, there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Rutherford says her office will continue to work with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to fully investigate this incident.
