Several weapons found during traffic stop result in felony charge, say deputies

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that several weapons found during a traffic stop resulted in a felony charge for an Orangeburg man.

Sheriff Ravenell said the man was charged after Orangeburg County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, for a moving violation.

During the stop two Glocks, and one Draco pistols were seized from the vehicle.

“This started with a traffic violation that didn’t go well for the vehicle’s occupants. We ended up with several guns being seized and a felony weapons charge,” the sheriff said.

Ravenell said 22-year-old Khaliel Disher was charged with possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony as well as simple possession of marijuana.

And a 24-year-old passenger was also charged with simple possession of marijuana.
