Tie your shoes and take a Walk to End Alzheimer’s this Saturday!
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting you to lace up your shoes in a special walk to end Alzheimer’s Disease.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is this Saturday at Segra Park, 1640 Freed Street in Columbia.
Check-in opens at 9:00 a.m. with an opening ceremony at 9:45 a.m., followed by a casual 2-mile walk through the area.
Curtis spoke with Mark Ward, the manager of the walk & Mike Brown, a volunteer, about how this special event raises funds for the Alzheimer’s Association and awareness towards the disease.
The Alzheimer’s Association says in South Carolina alone, there are more than 112,500 people living with the disease and 219,000 caregivers.
This walk aims to raise $225,000 for the association.
