Roth Called Up To Bigs Again

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Former Gamecock pitcher Michael Roth has been called up to the majors for the third time this season. The left-hander was recalled by the Los Angeles Angels from Double-A Arkansas before Thursday’s game against Detroit. He took the roster spot of Tommy Hanson who was place on the 15-day disabled list. Roth’s first call-up was in mid-April. The 2012 9th round pick has made nine appearances with the Angels this season. Roth is 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA in 15 innings. In 10 appearances in the minors with Arkansas, Roth is 2-2 with a 3.61 ERA.
