RCSD: Man arrested in connection with armed robbery at bank

Deputies said Willie Lee Moses II was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at 7039 Parklane Road (First Citizens Bank) that happened on Tuesday, October 15, around 10 a.m.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at First Citizens Bank on last Tuesday, said RCSD.

Deputies said Willie Lee Moses II was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at 7039 Parklane Road (First Citizens Bank) that happened on Tuesday, October 15, around 10 a.m.

RCSD said deputies were told that a man who was later identified as Willie Lee Moses II, walked into the bank and presented a handwritten note to the teller stating that ‘this was an armed robbery’ and demanded money. 

Moses was able to leave the bank with money before deputies arrived to the scene.

Investigators identified Moses base on a previous investigation involving him, and issued a warrant for his arrest in connection to the bank robbery.

Additionally, the sheriff’s department said deputies responded to a civil disturbance at 200 Zimalcrest Drive on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Moses was identified in that incident also as the person who was creating a disturbance and was taken into custody.

He was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and charged with entering a bank with intent to steal and, in reference to the incident on October 19, Moses was charged with possession of meth or cocaine base less than one gram.
