CRFD: No injuries in 2 alarm building fire on Bluff Road

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Richland Fire Department says no one is injured after a fire ripped through a vacant commercial building in the 4500 block of Bluff Road Thursday evening.

According to officials, Columbia Fire’s 3rd shift crews were called to the property before 7:30pm to fight a 2 alarm fire authorities say moved from the inside of the building and started flaring up through the roof of the property.

Fire crews listed the inferno as a second alarm fire and requested assistance from additional units.

Fortunately, fire officials say the building that once served as a convenience store was vacant and no one was inside at the time of the fire.
The fire has been extinguished. The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
