Pedestrian identified after West Columbia collision, say coroner’s office

 

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– A pedestrian was killed after a collision last week has been identified by the coroner’s office, said officials.

The collision happened in the 800 block of Chris Drive, in the West Columbia area of Lexington County on Monday, October 21, shortly before 9:30 p.m.

According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, Heidi M. Bahrs, 49, of West Columbia was in the roadway when she was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on Chris Drive.

Bahrs was taken to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead on Sunday, October 27, due to the injuries she received in the collision.

Another pedestrian was also taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Lexington County Coroner’s Office says the driver stopped at the scene and called 911.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the West Columbia Police Department, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT are continuing to investigate the incident.
