Go behind the badge at RCSD’s Citizens Academy program

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – You can go behind the badge and get a taste of the life of a Richland County deputy!

Curtis spoke with Deputy Thomas Browne about the Sheriff’s Department’s Citizens Academy program.

Deputy Browne says the free 12-week program gives citizens the opportunity to see the inner workings of the department.

It also gives them hands-on experiences of being a deputy which includes handgun training, a ride-along and more.

Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
