A Cordova woman reported missing is discovered in Orangeburg flood waters

Orangeburg County Sheriffs Office logoOrangeburg, SC (WOLO) — The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is asking members of the community to offer “comfort and support” to the family of a Cordova woman deputies say left her home headed to an area pharmacy during the torrential downpours and never returned.

Authorities say they announced the search for 66 year old Valerie Goff who was reported missing. That was until officials say the car she was driving, a Nissan Cube was discovered in flood waters near Glover and Andrew Dibble Streets. The amount of rain prompted Governor Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency for the Orangeburg area because of the floodwaters washing out roads and closing schools.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell urges anyone who may know the family to lift them up in prayer and is also asking that the family be given privacy during this difficult time.
