RCSD K9 unit receives $15k donation

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Two Richland County Sheriff’s Department K9 officers passed away in the line of duty.

The deaths of K9’s Wick and Kodak have left a hole in the department.

To help RCSD purchase a new K9, Columbia Kennel Club presented the sheriff’s department with a $15,000 check.

Sheriff Leon Lott says police K9’s are essential in a variety of situations.
