Lexington County Coroner identifies 16-year-old who died after 2-vehicle collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified the teen who died after a two-vehicle collision on St. Andrews Road, said the coroner’s office.

The collision happened on December 9, around 8:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of St. Andrews Road in the Columbia area of Lexington County.

According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, Brittany Rosalinda Valencia, 16, of Columbia was the passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on St. Andrews Road when the vehicle collided with another vehicle traveling westbound on St. Andrews Road.

Valencia, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.
