KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One inmate will be criminally charged after an incident at the detention center in Kershaw County, said Kershaw County Sheriff Lee Boan.

Timothy Maurice Truesdale, 40, is the only inmate investigators believe assaulted anyone during the December 16 incident at the Kershaw County Detention Center.

Truesdale is charged with assault 2nd on a KCDC officer.

All other inmates involved were non-compliant but were also nonviolent during the incident, according to Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.

Also, the sheriff’s office said those inmates will be dealt with administratively by the detention center’s personnel. 

“I commend the staff at the Kershaw County Detention Center for all the steps they took to ensure the safety of the public as well as all inmates in their custody,” said Sheriff Boan.
