2 suspected arrested in connection with K9 Officer Bumi’s death denied bond

 

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Two of the suspects in connection with the shooting death of a Richland County K9 Officer have been denied bond.

Deputies say the 13-year-old shooter and another 16-year-old suspect both entered guilty plea in bond court.

K9 Officer Bumi was shot and killed when deputies were involved in a chase with a group of teens deputies say stole a car from the Parklane Road area.

Sheriff Leon Lott says he is pleased with the outcome of the investigation.

A 3rd suspect, 17-year-old Damian Brown turned himself in over the weekend.

Deputies say he is being charged as an adult.
