Sumter authorities investigating after two bodies found in separate locations

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter authorities are investigating after two bodies were found in separate locations on New Year’s Eve Day.

Sumter Police say on Tuesday, January 1, around 2:30 a.m. human remains were found inside a burning car on Boulevard Road.

Also, on Tuesday officials say divers found a body inside a car submerged in the waters of the Rocky Bluff Swamp near Crestwood High School.

The Sumter County Coroner’s Office is investigating both incidents.
