UPDATE: Forest Acres Police say autistic 21-year-old has been found safe

FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO)– Forest Acres Police say an autistic 21-year-old who went missing has been found safe.

21-year-old Dennis Vasilkov Kaplan who is autistic, non-verbal, and was considered an endangered missing person.

Kaplan was reported missing by his family early Wednesday morning after they discovered he was gone.

Security camera footage shows him leaving his Magnolia Park Circle home around 1:00 a.m. on January 1.

Chief Don Robinson says Kaplan was found safe in Cayce on Frink Street around 4:45 p.m. later that day.

He was found thanks to a tip called in by an alert citizen.
