The Pentagon proposes legal settlement for ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy

(CNN) — The Pentagon is proposing a legal settlement linked to its “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
this potential deal is connected to a case filed in 20-23 against The Department of Defense regarding veterans discharged because of their sexual orientation.

More than 30-thousand members of the U.S. Military were forced to leave because of the policy and plaintiffs say their discharges disqualified them from receiving veterans’ benefits.
According to a statement from plaintiffs,  more than 18-thousand veterans will be eligible for the change. The settlement has not yet been finalized. The Department of Defense has not yet commented.
