Local Living: Town of Irmo’s Chili Cook-off, Love Is Foundation’s Winter dinner/dance, New Year’s Adoptions special

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the Town of Irmo is heating up the winter season with a chili cook off this month.
It starts Saturday, January 25, and it’s going on from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Moore Park on East View Drive.
All the proceeds will go towards MacGregor Presbyterian Church’s Snack Pack program.
The event is free to attend.
The Love Is Foundation is hosting a Winter dinner and dance event for special needs kids this month.
It starts this Saturday, Jan 11, at 4:30 p.m. at Camp Cole.
The free event will be packed with music, dancing, giveaways and food, but you must register if you want to take part.
You can bring in the new year by adopting a furry friend.
Columbia Animal Services is having a New Year’s Adoptions special.
All adoptions are only $1 for the entire month of January.
The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m., and then again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
